Jon is the Co-Founder and CEO of Red Cedar. Over his 22-year career in real estate development, he has developed more than 50 residential communities and delivered over 5,000 homes and multi-family units.

Jon began his career in mixed-use development and later managed a private equity fund that acquired and sold more than 4,000 homes and vacant lots during the 2008 financial crisis. An early pioneer in the build-to-rent sector beginning in 2012, he founded Red Cedar in 2015 to focus on land development, homebuilding, and construction services for BTR and multi-family developers.

Today, Red Cedar builds more than 2,000 units annually and continues to expand its footprint across the Southeast.

Brent leads land acquisitions and development while supporting capital markets at Red Cedar. Over his 15-year career in real estate, he has overseen the acquisition, development, and disposition of approximately 10,000 lots. Brent began as an underwriter for CMBS lenders, participating in over $2B in loan originations across all U.S. asset classes.

In 2014, he transitioned to residential development and homebuilding, establishing the Atlanta office for a fund acquiring assets emerging from the Great Financial Crisis. Brent has developed and delivered lots to leading public and private builders and was a founding member of an Atlanta-based homebuilding company, selling his interests in 2024.

Known for building strong relationships across land, development, homebuilding, and Build-to-Rent (BTR) sectors, Brent drives Red Cedar’s continued growth through technology adoption and AI initiatives, positioning the firm as a thought leader in the industry.
