Ryan Walton
Ryan brings nine years of experience in residential real estate development, with a background that uniquely blends accounting, operations, and executive leadership. He began his career as a staff accountant before transitioning into field operations, gaining hands-on experience across both the horizontal development and vertical construction sides of the business. This cross-functional background provides him with a comprehensive understanding of the full development lifecycle—from land development and construction execution to financial management and reporting.
Over the past seven years, Ryan has specialized in the Build-to-Rent (BTR) sector, where he has played a key role in scaling operations and supporting rapid portfolio growth. One of the highlights of his career was helping grow a two-person operation into a team of more than 15 professionals that successfully delivered over 200 units per year.
As Vice President of Accounting at Red Cedar, Ryan leverages his operational experience and financial expertise to strengthen financial controls, improve reporting transparency, and support strategic decision-making across the organization. His ability to bridge accounting, construction operations, and executive strategy allows him to provide leadership with clear financial insight while ensuring the systems and processes are in place to support Red Cedar’s continued growth.
Jay Cox
Jay brings 14 years of experience in commercial general construction and leads entitlement and land development for Red Cedar. Over his career, Jay has managed development or construction on over 2,000 Multifamily units, over 500 townhomes, and over 200 single family homes in many of the major markets across the Carolinas. Jay has extensive experience working with design professionals and local governments on project approvals.
Adam Jones
Adam brings 25 years of experience in commercial general construction and leads Red Cedar’s commercial development initiatives. Adam brings a breadth of experience and knowledge to Red Cedar. A native to the Carolinas, Adam brings a unique approach to the company as he has years of first-hand experience in the region. His project experience spans from traditional garden style multi-family and high rise to overseas data center and mission critical assignments accounting for over $3.5 billion in value.

Rick Otto
Rick has accumulated over 34 years of extensive experience in the field of commercial general construction, during which he has developed a deep understanding of the industry’s best practices and standards. In addition to his primary expertise, he has also gained significant knowledge in residential and civil construction projects, allowing him to approach each project with a comprehensive perspective. Throughout his career, Rick has been responsible for the construction of more than 600 custom homes, retail centers, and civil infrastructure showcasing his skill and dedication to quality craftsmanship. Currently, he leads product development initiatives, ensuring that new offerings meet industry standards and client needs. He also oversees compliance with building codes and regulations, maintaining high standards of safety and legality. Furthermore, Rick is actively involved in value engineering processes, striving to optimize project costs and functionality without compromising quality for Red Cedar.
Chad Hawley
With over 25 years in the construction industry, Chad leads Build-to-Rent operations with expertise spanning pre-construction through project closeout. His background includes field management, back-office operations, national production building, custom home construction, and light commercial projects. With a focus on driving operational efficiency and delivering high-volume residential portfolios on schedule and within budget, Chad combines hands-on construction knowledge with strategic oversight to support scalable growth and exceptional customer experience.
Paul Gladu
Paul has over 20 years of national homebuilding experience and leads vertical construction for Red Cedar. He launched two new divisions in the Charlotte market and is known for building strong trade and vendor partnerships, developing field leadership talent, and driving operational excellence. With deep expertise in financial oversight, cost control, quality assurance, customer experience, and risk management, Paul consistently delivers high-performing teams and successful projects.
Angel Hammer
Angel brings 23 years of experience in the homebuilding industry and serves as Vice President of Procurement for Red Cedar. She leads all procurement operations, overseeing trade partnerships, supplier negotiations, cost management, and purchasing strategy across multiple divisions. With deep expertise in strategic sourcing, product standardization, and value engineering, Angel drives efficiencies that protect margins and support scalable growth. Her collaborative leadership ensures procurement initiatives align seamlessly with construction, finance, and overall company objectives.
